Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I make a reservation?  How far in advance should I contact you?

A: The best way is to call our office at #507-332-8110 and speak with a member of our staff.  We love to get to know our clients! We can answer any additional questions you may have and set up your boarding, grooming, daycare or training reservation.  If you prefer, we’re also happy to help you via email or Facebook Messenger.  Usually, a few days notice is sufficient to make a boarding reservation with the exceptions of major holidays and busy summertime weekends.  It usually is a good idea to contact us at least three weeks prior to these busy times to secure your spot!

Q: What vaccinations does my pet need?

A: We require proof of rabies, distemper, and bordetella (canine cough) from your veterinarian’s office. Being current with a flea and tick preventative is highly recommended but not required.  Feel free to bring a copy of your dog’s vaccines at drop off or email them to us in advance.

Q: What should I bring when I drop my pet off?

A: If not provided previously, bring along a current vaccine record for each of your pets being boarded.  While we can provide everything your dog will need during his or her stay, many pets will find comfort in having a familiar item with them.  Feel free to bring a small blanket or a favorite toy to make your pet feel more at home.  Please limit belongings to one or two items, and refrain from bringing large beds or bulky quilts as these are difficult to clean and can easily be destroyed.  We do provide Nutri Source brand dog food at an additional cost, but we recommend providing food from home so as to not alter your pet's diet significantly during their stay.

Q:   While boarding, how long will my dog be able to be outside?

A:    Dogs are let outside several times a day into large fenced in areas depending on the weather and how they interact with other canines.  When the weather allows, we typically average more than six hours of group playtime in a day.  Even when it’s too chilly or wet to be outside, we utilize a covered play arena complete with dog friendly turf!  Either way, dogs will be given ample opportunity to both potty and play!

Q: My dog has a health condition... Can you still care for her, and can I bring her medications?

A: If your dog requires extra handling or multiple medications because of a recent surgery, health problem, or mobility limitation we are happy to offer Special Care Lodging, an option that allows us to provide individualized care for your dog’s special needs. This service is an additional $5 per night.  Dogs requiring a single medication type during their stay are no additional cost.  Bring along your dog's favorite method of receiving meds (peanut butter, hotdogs, etc.), and we'll do the rest!

Q: Are you at the new location yet?

A: Nope, not yet.  Construction is moving along, but we have a ways to go before the big move.  We're doing all of the construction ourselves, and it’s exciting to see the slow but steady  progress!  Don’t worry.  We’ll make a bid deal of it when we transition to the new digs.  You’ll definitely hear about it!

Q: Are you open on holidays?

A: While we are taking care of pets throughout the day, the front office is typically closed on major holidays for pickups, drop offs, daycare and grooming appointments.  We do have limited office hours for pickups available on Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and New Year’s Day.  Please call or email for details.
